Inspired by the Weekly Photo Challenge: Saturated I also share a brightly coloured picture of one street in Toronto. Unlike the streets of Toronto, my street is lacking in colour! How colourful is your street?

Also on another fun note: This Sunday is Yummy Sunday time again – I think I’ll do some cinnamon buns, not 100% sure yet, but definitely something sweet…
Last week I found myself watching another episode of Wallander – originally a Swedish TV series, that was reproduced by the BBC with British actors. The story is the same as the Swedish original, it is filmed in Sweden, and basically it’s like if it was the original but with British actors speaking English (so for example, if they are reading an email, it shows up written in Swedish, although they read it out-loud in English). Well, its strange and funny, but you grow to love it. However, I have now the added bizarre value of having to watch it dubbed in German…. 🙂

The days are getting short, dark, and cold…boo! So I’ve decided to add a bit of flavour to my weekends by creating delicious recipes. I will share these with you every other Sunday, in a feature post called: yummy sunday. I hope you also get inspired to create your own recipes and maybe try some of mine. I would love to read about your yummy sundays too.
Today, an easy one:
Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 3-4 people
Ingredients:
210g of canned or bottled chickpeas
75g of Tahini
2tbsp of the chickpeas cooking liquid
1 large garlic glove
2tbsp of lemon juice
1/2 tsp of cumin seeds
That’s it! you can then enjoy it with pieces of fresh baguette and some cut-out crunchy vegetable.
I’m excited to go to Kassel this weekend. This time it’s just a short day trip to see my cool friends from Kassel. I lived there for a short time in 2001, and coincidentally that year was also a year of the dOCUMENTA – a massive art exhibition that takes place every 5 years. I really enjoyed living there, there was lots of things happening as part of this art show, and the city is generally a cool place to be.
Last year I visit the dOCUMENTA again and I was quite taken by these portraits by a South African artist – Zanele Muholi
Happy Weekend! Any nice plans?
Last year we went on a road trip on the west coast of the US. It was my first time in the US. There were some amazing surprises and some disappointments, as you can expect when you travel somewhere new. However, what I did not expect was to be left with this strange longing for the Californian hills and the Arizona desert. I am not even really sure what I miss, maybe the dry heat, or maybe the feeling of endless space…. Strange!
This is a challenge I could not resist.
I also leave you with a poem by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen – O Mar – The Sea (Only in Portuguese. I will not attempt to translate it…sorry! if you can’t understand Portuguese, trust me its beautiful :))
