Last year, while I was still living in Brighton, I tried this Polaroid film created by the Impossible project.
The result was wonderfully eerie.
This also fits quite well with this week’s photo challenge.

Does seeing happy faces improve your mood?
This is the question that Javier Elkin is trying to find out with his Pocket Smile app. he says he wants to: “explore if looking at smiling faces throughout the day can increase happiness! Have you ever noticed how many smiles are started by other smiles? Just like yawning, smiling is contagious. Pocket Smile is an iOS app that shows you smiling faces throughout the day and tracks mood changes with monthly questionnaires. You can join the experiment by downloading the free Pocket Smile app from iTunes today!”
I will definitely try this app! But meanwhile, be happy!

In anticipation of my trip to Portugal in November, here are 5 fun facts about Portugal that you might not know:
Written on THE WALL : “Du hast gelernt was Freiheit heisst, und das vergiss nie mehr” – You have learned what freedom means and that you shall forget no more.
Today is the anniversary of the reunification of Germany. Berlin still stands as a symbol of the once divided Germany with what is left of the WALL that separated East and West Berlin. But the whole of Germany was separated not just Berlin, in fact, West Berlin was a little island of “Western Germany” in “Eastern Germany” – yes it was that crazy!
Here are some of my favourite pictures of Berlin.

I’m excited to go to Kassel this weekend. This time it’s just a short day trip to see my cool friends from Kassel. I lived there for a short time in 2001, and coincidentally that year was also a year of the dOCUMENTA – a massive art exhibition that takes place every 5 years. I really enjoyed living there, there was lots of things happening as part of this art show, and the city is generally a cool place to be.
Last year I visit the dOCUMENTA again and I was quite taken by these portraits by a South African artist – Zanele Muholi
Happy Weekend! Any nice plans?
Last year we went on a road trip on the west coast of the US. It was my first time in the US. There were some amazing surprises and some disappointments, as you can expect when you travel somewhere new. However, what I did not expect was to be left with this strange longing for the Californian hills and the Arizona desert. I am not even really sure what I miss, maybe the dry heat, or maybe the feeling of endless space…. Strange!
Some time ago I was obsessed with trying to take pictures that could be put together as a panoramic photo. Some of them turned out ok (what do you think?)! I then gave up on this idea….. but this week I was thinking I should play around with this a bit more.
So, my plan for this weekend is to find the perfect panoramic view in the area. The question is: will I be able to find it?…. I’ll let you know…
Do you have plans for your weekend too?
